LifeJournal Newsletter - July, 2008

I’m leaving for a family vacation soon and therefore I’m sending this newsletter earlier than usual this month. Vacations offer a chance to get out of my everyday perspective and widen my mindset. I’m looking forward to that shift.

The first article answers a question that many people have asked about: Can LifeJournal run on an Apple computer? Although LifeJournal doesn’t run natively on the Mac, there are several viable ways to run LifeJournal on newer Mac computers. I recently purchased a Mac and I am running LifeJournal on it without a problem.

The second article addresses a question that a customer posed: What’s the best way that you can use LifeJournal to keep a continuous entry on a particular subject? Read the article for a detailed explanation and some examples for ways to accomplish this.

Wishing you the best on your adventures wherever they are. Keep writing!

Sincerely,
Ruth Folit

In the meantime, there are two ways to run LifeJournal on the Mac: (1) running Boot Camp and (2) running a virtual machine program. We’ll discuss the basics about how to get either one of these running, and the pros and cons of each.

Keeping a Continuous Journal Entry

Q. Sometimes my daily entries are quite short. I would like to continue writing in that particular entry without starting a new entry and yet have the date of that new entry recorded. Is there any way of doing this?

A.
Yes, there are ways to add to an existing entry and to record the date of when you add the new material. You can always go back to an entry that you’ve written and add to it. Open an existing entry by

End Quotes

Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.
Cyril Connolly

"I write entirely to find out what I am thinking, what I am looking at, what I see and what it means. What I want and what I fear."
--Joan Didion
