Starting in the late 90s and continuing until a few years ago, I led the development effort for all of the LifeJournal software products. Suffice to say, LifeJournal was a huge part of my life for many years. Ruth contacted me a few months ago to let me know she was retiring and to discuss what to do with the company. Faced with the possibility of LifeJournal not being around anymore, I started to feel quite sad and it became clear to me how much the product meant to me. After some conversation, Ruth and I worked out an arrangement and I’m very pleased to announce that as of May 1st, 2019, I’m now the owner of LifeJournal.
The upkeep and support of the product have been a little neglected for the last couple of years for various reasons but rest assured, that is no longer the case. My team and I are working hard to get caught up on all the support channels and are actively working on software upgrades. Which brings me to the next point…
I would like to personally invite everyone to become a member of the steering committee for the technological future of the product by Clicking Here, viewing and contributing to our ChangeMap. Using ChangeMap, you can suggest features and also discuss and vote on features suggested by others. You will have full transparency of what we are currently working on and what is coming up next.
We are preparing to release a new version of the online software in the next few days that updates the core platform and addresses a few longstanding issues. If you ever want to preview the upcoming release, just go to https://beta.journallife.me and use the same login as the production site. This site functions as a public preview of the latest software before it has been officially released to production.
Over the next few weeks, we will slowly be rebranding the product to JournalLife so you will see the name and logos being swapped out as a result of the terms of the change of ownership.
I’m fully committed to breathing new life into the product and I hope you will all join me on the journey to create the next generation of journaling software.
